Temporary Scientist Position CEA-Saclay (Paris/France)

Post-Doc / Temporary Scientist Position
CEA-Saclay (Paris/France)

One fellowship is currently available to join the group of Dr. Dimitris SAKELLARIOU in the Laboratory of Structure and Dynamics using Magnetic Resonance at the Commissariat à l'Energie Atomique of Saclay, close to Paris, in France. The research in the group is primarily directed at designing novel permanent magnet MR devices, MRI sensors and micro-detectors.

This fellowship is funded by the European Research Council. The project is to develop novel instrumentation for small animal in-vivo MRS applications and the research of the candidate should focus in this framework. The duration is 12 months (with the possibility to extend up to 36 months) and the net salary will be approximately 2000 - 3000 Euros/month (depending on the experience of the candidate).

Prospective candidates should have a physics or engineering background and demonstrated experience in any of the following areas: instrumentation, radio-frequency/electrical engineering, magnetometry, low-field NMR/MRI, magnet/probe design.

Our group is part of the Laboratory of Structure and Dynamics using Magnetic Resonance, which provides state-of-the-art research facilities in low-field and high-field NMR spectroscopy, in a highly collegial environment involving a large number of NMR spectroscopists and a very large variety of international scientists (The site of the CEA in Saclay is one of the largest multidisciplinary National Laboratories in Europe: www-centre-saclay.cea.fr/). Candidates must be fluent (written / spoken) in English.

Applicants should send:
1) a curriculum vitae including the list of their publications,
2) two letters of reference.
